Beach Solutions, supplier of IP delivery and SoC integration tools, has today announced its latest member of its EASI-GEN™ (Embedded Application System Interface GENerator) family, called EASI-Tablettes™. EASI-Tablettes is a documentation generation tool for design engineers developing and distributing hardware IP blocks and System on Chip products. The tool is used to insert tables containing memory mapped register data and associated text into Microsoft® Word documents directly from pre-validated design data. It operates on any design specification captured using EASI-Studio™ from Beach Solutions. This specification is stored as a database that can also be exported in an XML format for use with other tools.

EASI-Tablettes allows the memory-map specification of any IP block previously captured within an EASI database to be inserted directly into the user's own Microsoft Word documents. From a selection of ready-formatted table layouts, the user simply points and clicks to insert the relevant data into the target document. The tables can be adapted to meet in-house styles thus providing a continuous thread directly from the engineering design data to the product literature.

The EASI-Tablette tool includes a palette utility that allows the user to choose from a range of pre-built data tables and paragraphs and select their insertion points into any Word document. Each individual Tablette is a stand-alone RTF file that is inserted as a linked-reference in the target document. Each linked reference is stored in the document as an absolute directory path. Any subsequent changes to the design data made within EASI-Studio can be immediately reflected in the target Word documentation by updating the associated links without effecting other data within that document.
